The Academic Senateʼs priority is to provide an efficient, transparent framework for faculty to engage with the Administration at the campus and UC Systemwide levels. As UCSF seeks to make changes across the campus, faculty engagement in governance processes shared with administrators brings diverse perspectives and participation. Active faculty participation enhances outcomes and serves as an important mechanism for communication among faculty.

UCSF Community and Government Relations (CGR) is UC San Francisco's most direct link to our neighbors, community groups and government officials. The CGR team is led by Assistant Vice Chancellor Paul Takayama and is committed to fostering the spirit of honest communication, mutual understanding and creative collaboration with the people whose neighborhoods and concerns we share.

Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) assists project management to ensure that UCSF work environments are created to support environmental stewardship, employee safety, health, productivity and efficient movement– often within limited and shared spaces. Programs and Subject Matter Experts within Ergonomics & Human Factors, Fire/Life Safety, Chemical Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Radiation Safety, Biosafety, Environmental Compliance and more are available to assist employees, leadership and project managers create offices, laboratories, and healthcare facilities that support the UCSF mission and employee safety, well-being and cost control.

Educational Technology Services (ETS) provides central campus resources for classroom technical support, AV solutions, lecture capture, video conferencing, video recording, editing and production, as well as other audio-visual services.

Facilities Services helps create an exceptional physical environment at UC San Francisco by tending to the varied operational and maintenance needs of our buildings and grounds. The group is led by Executive Director Jon Giacomi, and has representation at all campus sites.

UCSF Housing, led by Director Leslie Santos, provides housing and related services to students, postdocs, residents, clinical fellows and faculty. Based on a reputation of quality and service, Housing Services aspires to be the housing destination of choice for eligible UCSF affiliates.

UCSF Privacy Office advises on privacy issues relating to UCSF patients, workforce and other confidential business information.

The UCSF Real Estate group is focused on the dynamic development, planning, delivery and management of space for UCSF. Departments include Campus Design and Construction, Campus Planning, Health Design and Construction and Real Estate Services.

The UCSF University Relations office leads overall comprehensive, integrated campus and medical center strategic communications to raise the visibility and awareness of UCSF’s mission and excellence in patient care, research and education. The office also spearheads advocacy efforts, community relations, and local, state and federal governmental relations on behalf of the University; manages UCSF brand and identity guidelines; and is led by Vice Chancellor Barbara French.
