As part of its efforts to reduce long-term occupancy costs, the Laurel Heights campus was ground leased to The Prado Group, Inc. and SKS Partners LLC, under a developer partnership agreement for a 99-year prepaid ground lease. The agreement was the first of its kind in the UC system and includes a space lease of 360,000 feet back to UCSF. UCSF intends to fully vacate the building by 2021 when new facilities are completed at Mission Bay.
